Eyebrook - October 2023
Local to me, this reservoir was one of the training areas for the Dam Busters.
Bradgate Park - October 2023
Bradgate Park, just north of Leicester was the home of Lady Jane Grey (the 9 day Queen).
It is the home to a sizeable herd of Red and Fallow Deer.
I like to visit in October or November at the start of the rutting season.
Rutland Water - July 2023
Local to me and home to one of the main sites which pioneered the re-introdcution of Ospreys to England. There are now over 30 pairs in the area.
Bempton Cliffs - June 2023
RSPB Bempton Cliffs on the Yorkshire coast is a great place for seabirds of all types.
I went on a Gannet cruise during which we were completely circled by Gannets diving into the water only feet away. Amazing!
Farne Islands - June 2023
Unfortunately, when I visited the Farne Islands off the Northumbrian coast, they were shut due to an outbreak of bird flu.
Fortunately, the boats were able to get quite close to the sides of the islands without landing.

Horn Mill - May 2023
Horn Mill Trout Farm is near Empingham in Rutland.
They have kept one of their ponds uncovered and built a hide at water level. You can pay to go for a session in the hide and watch the Ospreys come in to take fish.
