The Eurasian Hobby (Falco subbuteo) is a small, ultra-fast migratory falcon that visits the UK in the summer to breed. Measuring 29–36 cm long, it features slate-grey upperparts, a white throat, dark face markings, black streaks on the belly, and distinctive brick-red "trousers". Catches large insects like dragonflies and small birds edntirely in mid-air.
